Woo hoo! dailykos is joining in in support for DA.

Next week, the Senate will likely vote on an amendment to attach the DREAM Act to the Department of Defense authorization bill for fiscal year 2011. The DREAM Act allows persons who were brought to the U.S. as undocumented children a path to citizenship if they complete two years of college or military service.

Daily Kos is joining forces with SEIU to take action to pass the DREAM Act. The plan is that, on Monday, we are going to light up phones in Senate offices, with a special emphasis on targeted swing votes. We have to counter what will be a big push by anti-immigrant voices.

Please, sign up with SEIU and Daily Kos to take action on the DREAM Act. *We will provide you with contact info and talking points--everything you need to voice support and help pass this much-needed, patriotic, and compassionate legislation.

We can win this fight. The DREAM Act is co-sponsored by Republican Richard Lugar. Five other current Republican Senators--Bennett, Brownback, Collins, Hatch and Snowe--have voted for it in the past. This is winnable, if you provide your voice.

One article says that even this passes, Obama would veto it. I doubt it.

He had 0riginally said that because it is text on a controversial 500 million dollar jet engine. However, I'm sure he knows the DREAM Act is far more important and would pave the way for Comprehensive Reform is much more important. Plus things like CIR would pay off those 500 million in no time in tax revenue.
