With illegal status, it would be impossible (or near) to work at hospital.
I live in MA, I don't think I can even take NCLEX.

So my question is simple.

Do you guys know with the graduate degree in nursing (with or without NCLEX) if you are qualify to work in other country?

Also..how did you guys managed clinical?
Don't they check for background in Hospital?
I had to drop out form nursing because of that+co-op program.
(mainly co-op program)

I didn't drop out. It was university so I internally transfer to Biology and graduated. Co-op program is like intership. In Northeastern University...they make their student to work for 1~2 semesters in their field to gain experience.
Funny thing is Northeastern is ranked #1 for their co-op program...which killed me...

I didn't have too much problem with clinical...but my nursing co-op advisor...
She was raising hell.
Prying into my status, calling in lawyers, asking to speak with my parents.

I honestly don't know how you guys do it..
If, let's say patient under your care sue for malpractive (people do sue like crazy) how are you going to be able to defend yourself with your status?

I have family here too, so I can't risk anything.

How serious are you about nursing? Since you already have your Bachelor's, you can apply to these ABSN (Accelerated Bacherlor's) nursing programs. Have you heard of these? They're basically for people that have a Bachelor's or Master's in another field (ie: Biology, or English, etc.) and want to go into nursing. I'm sure there are some in MA (there's PLENTY here in CA; every university is adopting this due to the many unemployed people wanting to go into nursing).

I ask because I've heard these programs are pretty competitive, GPA and "work experience" wise, but you could find out more about these.

But man. Sorry you had to go through that in your program. That's effin' SCARY.

Edit: Oh and about the malpractice insurance. MOST nursing programs (ADN & BSN) will provide the malpractice insurance for an additional fee. You have the option of getting your own, but they cost more than the school's. & it HARDLY ever gets to that point. You'll have the Hospital, the school, plus the state board that the family will have to fight AGAINST. The only time it even gets to that point is 1) The patient fell (& it has been proven it was gross negligence on the RN & the nursing student's part; 2) Med errors (again, it's not just your fault. The RN that you're following will be looked at along with your school + the nursing student.

Yeah...I read some posts here and E-mail second degree/direct entry Nursing programs and Master in Public Health programs...flat out asking if they will accept illegal immigrant.

I don't know how this will go.... but I will definitely post here as to what is going on.

Have you considered Canada? Try to see if you can qualify for the Federal Worker's program for PR.
