Most requirements for the new health insurance law come into effect tomorrow, and I'm still very sure I understand how all this will go.
here's my question:
will illegals be able to buy private health insurance? and if not, how high will the fines be if we do not have health insurance?

I think so ! We'll just have to wait til 2014 to see what will happen. But right now, you could buy private insurance anywhere without being asked for legal status.
