The Democratic National Committee sent out an email blast Friday seeking support for the DREAM Act, which would give legal status to the children of undocumented immigrants who are willing to work for a college degree or serve in our armed forces. "President Obama has made it clear: He wants Congress to deliver the DREAM Act to his desk before the year is out," the email reads. "We all know that not everyone in Congress agrees on comprehensive immigration reform. But that is exactly why we must move forward now in areas where there is broad support across the board," it goes on. "It's a reform rooted in basic fairness. Americans do not believe in punishing innocent children for their parents' actions. We believe in rewarding the folks who work hard to get an education; we believe in honoring the people who make great sacrifices to serve their country." The letter ends by asking supporters to put their names to an online letter at:

I'm hopeful only because there's a lot more political muscle put behind this than in 2007 or even in September when it was first introduced as an amendment.

Don't get your hopes too high. It still has the possibility of failing on the senate.

Everything has the possibility of failing, meaning we only need to work harder and hope higher to over come that possibility.

Very good news to see Obama ACTUALLY doing something this time around.

I mean it's just a website asking for donations and such, but that's got to count for something. Heck, it probably has the best momentum in the DA's history.

Please continue to fax, e-mail, tweet, call, and pray for the DA.
