Did you guys watch Anderson Cooper 360 tonight? He reported about a bill currently in the House which passed with unanimous consent in the senate about a Haitian child adoption bill. The bill basically grants citizenship to Haitian kids that were adopted by american parents after the earthquake. Everything was fine. Until he got to the point of his reporting saying that this bill was supposed to be voted on Monday but was posponed time and time again this week and the reason it has been delayed is because they want to attach that bill with the DREAM Act! According to Anderson Cooper, Nancy Pelosi wants to attach the DA to this Haitin adoption bill so that the controversial bill (the DA) is passed since it will be attached to the much less controversial Haitian adoption bill. I was stunned to hear this since I'm sure you guys all knew that the Dream Act was pretty much guaranteed to pass the house and its the senate where we would have problems. Has anyone heard any of this? I had not heard anything until today. If this happens then this might bring some problems to the DA in the house...

Pelosi sure knows how to ram things through congress. It would make republicans look bad if they voted nay. I'm glad pelosi has thought of something

I totally see how it could help, but I feel like its not necessary since DA had a pretty good chance of passing the house with the large Democrat majority right now

What!?! I find this hard to believe.. I wonder who anderson's source was on this news?? and also, even if this story was true, and if house passes this adoption bill with dream act attached to it, its going to have to go back to senate and senate will have to vote on the adoption bill again but this time with dream act attached. you can bet some conservative senator is going to see through this trick and complain or filibuster.

If this is true, I believe the chances of this passing in both House and Senate is near zero. So sad
