Does anyone know exactly how the adoption process would work for an undocumented youth that overstayed their visa? This would ultimately be my Plan B if the DA isnt passed.

My family recently talked to my lawyer and he said my options were getting adopted by my aunt who recently became a Citizen or marrying as soon as possible if the DA does not pass. See what we're trying to do is get me documented before i graduate.

So, Anyone know where i can find the process, or forms.

Don't you have to first get adopted, and then as soon as you do, I think you will have to fill out the N-600 since you are still underage.

Getting adopted is probably better than waiting for the DREAM Act. You'll get your LRP with none of this temporary legal resident status and in 5 years you'll be a USC.

It'll be considerably more expensive, but there will be a lot less headache involved.

I wouldn't recommend it for several factors.

1.You would have to meet the 2 year adopted child-adopted parent relationship first.

2.It be done under 16 years of age full and final.

3.You cannot apply for immediate family members whom were once related to you.

I'd recommend it if you were under 11-12 years of age and had no other family and overstayed your visa, but other than that no ! You would not only gain a 'green card' but US citizenship if the adoptive parent in question is a US citizen.Adoption is totally a State process not federal, once the process is complete then you may approach USCIS if the requirements of being under 16 and having a full and final adoption has been met.

The adoption process gonna take some time, at least a year. So you have to plan very carefully
