I'm not sure if this has been discussed, but if you read Section 6 (j) it states that a conditional nonimmigrant alien is elligible for any adjustment of status under the immigration laws at any time. Thus, you can get an H1b visa or marry someone and end up with a GC and eventual citizenship much sooner than the invisioned 13 years. I'm getting the impression that the 10 year wait is only applicable if you are intending to derive immigration benefits from the DREAM Act alone, however, all current routes are still open and can be pursued as soon as the conditional nonimmigrant status is approved. Am I correct in assuming this?

Marriage is always an option, that's a given. Of course, it voids any previous nonimmigrant status you might have held.

This answered my question. I have an approved family petition and am waiting for my visa category to become current. Otherwise, it would have sucked not to be allowed to travel overseas for over a year total in that 10 year period. WOOHOO!

Under the new bill we can't travel outside the US longer than 365 days in the 10 years IF I understood it correctly.

I guess there's an exception if you serve the military and have to go on tour?
