finally a bill easier to read.

you can also see the progress of the bill and once the bill its added to govtrack you can also see all the sections it refers to much quicker and easier.

I doubt many people here will be tracking the bill through the site as many of you will probably be news faster by being stuck to the t.v. or browsing all over the internet and someone might post the news first on here of whatever happens, but ... once they add the text of the bill this site is awesome.

I turned 30 in August. I've been here since 15 years old and Senators kept dragging this damn bill since 2001 and now when it's as close as it can be to approval I get ruled out due to age. That's just fucked up. 35 years old was perfect age cap as it would've covered many others like me.

sorry to hear about this, it was really a low blow to people that have been waiting for this for so long. I hope that after this passes the newly legalized DREAMers can generate a good amount of momentum for the CIR next, doubt it with the new congress but maybe at least 2 years from now after voting in a new batch of senators and representatives, or at least something that will benefit at the very least those left out from this bill.

I hope it goes back to 35 years old. There are enough complications on the bill already. In the long run I wonder how many people will actually become citizens after over 18 years-10 conditional non immigrant, 3 for LPR, 5 more for citizenship? 18 years is a quarter or third of peoples life!

it will be 3 years for LPR and then you can apply for citizenship, so 13 years, and it would be a very long time that sets a glass ceiling if someone wants to for example consider a long term career in the military, or holds them from research in certain areas or government positions.

But... its a path nonetheless, the only one for a very large number of people.

I am now in the same boat as you. I feel very sad. They even took the Retroactive part off.

House has no cap so there is a slim chance we might still get in.

Not 18 brother.

13

10 years as conditional non immigrant.
3 years as a LPR then apply for citizenship.

A little over 13 years, 2 more then the old bill.
+ however long it'll take in terms of years for citizenship to be approved.

Sorry to hear about your age predicament. But the house will probably be voting on their version soon, and theirs doesn't have an age limit.
