We offer a summary of the latest on Dream Act and what these developments mean moving forward. See the Today page.

I urge you to also read the first in a series of six posts by Juan (Abaddon) detailing his battle with deportation proceedings. By reading his posts you will know what to expect and do if you are ever confronted by Border Patrol or worse find yourself detained. All of the information that he will share is something he wished he knew before he had to live through these experiences. A lot of what he will share is not something you can easily find online.

Juan has been helping me run DAP since day one. I absolutely would not have been able to keep DAP alive without him. He has made numerous trips to D.C. on your behalf and appeared in multiple meetings with legislators to convince them to vote YES on DREAM. Read his posts.

God bless you sir.

I pray that everyone else can continue to fight much like Juan, Gaby Pacheco, and others have done in our behalf.

Continue the calls, e-mails, faxes, and prayers for the Dream Act!

Hey Nick, there is a serious mistake on the Today page.

Quote:
Other changes include paying back taxes, clarifies that no one can apply before 1 year after the enactment of the bill, extends the conditional residency status to 10 years from 6. Additionally, the age cap makes a come back -- you must be under 30 years to qualify.
The S.3992 bill only specifies a deadline for submission of applications which cannot be later than 1 year after enactment. There is no mention of the 1 year waiting period in the bill. Well at least I couldn't find it, so I'm mostly hoping its a mistake.

Quote:
(4) DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION- An alien shall submit an application for cancellation of removal and conditional nonimmigrant status under this subsection no later than the date that is 1 year after the later of--

(A) the date the alien was admitted to an institution of higher education in the United States;

(B) the date the alien earned a high school diploma or obtained a general education development certificate in the United States; or

(C) the date of the enactment of this Act.
Thanks for all your work!

Looks like I went against my own suggestion and relied on the AILA link for some information without actually seeing the text of the final bill. Thanks for pointing out my mistake. I've changed the post to be more accurate.
