In The Event of ICE arrest or immigration check: KNOW YOUR RIGHTS

When an ICE agent asks you for your citizenship info for whatever reason, under ANY circumstances, do not speak to them. Simply say that you will speak to them through an attorney. If they continue to persist they have such and such evidence and threaten you with deportation right away, don't cave in. They are allowed to lie.

Not a word. Remain silent. You speak when your lawyer speaks ONLY!

Also try to remember all the details and events that occured, including time, names of officers, their unit numbers etc.

Believe it or not, constitutional rights are guraranteed for ANYONE regardless of immigration status.

What if I don't have an attorney?

They will provide you with one. Not that many DREAMers have personal laywers, to begin with. Don't worry, as you will be provided one under the law.

I thought that since being undocumented is a civil offense (and not a crime), you're not provided one.

What if those ICE agents torment you with physical attack and give you no chance to talk to lawyers or anyone? Like instant shipping when not answering any questions.

They can't do that. If you do not talk they can't find out who you are and run the risk of deporting you to Mexico if you are really from Guatemala. And when that happens there are complaints from the Mexican and Guatemalen governments.

Or they could deport a legit USC (has happened before) to Mexico or Guatemala or w/e.

Remember, while in the U.S. we are still protected under the same rights (constitutional) as citizens.

but remember the time when that Bangladesh student in one of the Texas university with outstanding GPA got deported right 1 week before his green card? He said he was questioned harshly and then after no reply, he was sent to a small jailroom that had like 60 other criminals. I think he was there like 42 days or so and then he gave up and told truth and then sent to his home country without chance to getting lawyer.

I don't know. It seems ICE can go beyond their measure since no one is really guarding them.
