WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama has announced a bipartisan agreement on year-end legislation to extend expiring tax cuts and renew jobless benefits as part of a sweeping attempt to strengthen the economic recovery.
Other elements include a cut in Social Security taxes for millions of Americans.
Obama did not mention it, but top congressional Democrats objected to the proposal earlier in the day on grounds it was too generous to the wealthy.

Finally, tax cut deal is done! Republican should have no more excuse to vote for Dream Act this week

As far as I remember, that does not change anything.
Opposing any legislation until the spending measure is passed is also part of the Republican pledge in the letter.

beat me to it, my phone just texted me this as urgent news.

The only thing that was can hope for is that the republicans are in a better mood and hopefully agree to pass the DREAM Act, and other important bills.... When are they voting on the tax cuts btw?

from what I understand tomorrow they are doing the impeachment and from the looks of it, it will take quite a while.... and Reid did say he was putting the DREAM and other bills on cloture for wednesday with voting taking place at 10:00 am, how will his schedule work? (did not get it even when he announced it, would today's discussion be it...and what about the tax cut vote again).
