Jesus Christ, give them tanks and fences so they shut the hell up. Doesn't matter if it will actually work. Have them come up with a list that is reasonable, we need x amount of border patrol, x amount of fence, say ok within reason, do a study or two and send it in. Lets face it, it is the only way.

They will still say it isn't secure enough.

Didn't they want tax cuts for the rich so we gave it to them? they still said no. Give them tanks and build 100 ft high walls across Mexico that cost 10 trillion dollars and they will say illegal aliens cost us 10 trillion so don't give them Dream Act. Also 1 undocumented immigrant dig under and cross the border? they will say, "BORDER NOT SECURE" NO Dream Act

McCain wanted 6000 troops and Obama gave him 1200. What was gained by undercutting it.

McCain is the whiniest b$&h ever to throw a tantrum on the Senate floor.

What exactly do you think they would require to make it a 'secure border" ? Maybe after they catch Osama bin Laden (remember him ?) they could focus another couple of decades on 'securing the border'.

There's no such thing as securing the borders. It's just something that they keep tossing out as a soundbite. More than half of the people in the US illegally didn't jump the border to get here, they came legally and overstayed their visas. You could build a 100 foot tall wall with a thick minefield around it around the border, but the border still wouldn't be secure because people can get into the country a million other ways.

The issue isn't about border security, it's about xenophobia.
