That is correct. Many of them ran specifically as border enforcers and won.

But lets be real though, I can think of two border enforcement issues where the republicans made clear reasonable demands and he said no:

Arizona wanted 6000 total extra national guard troops until more border patrol can be trained to replace them. Obama gave 1,200, pissing off everyone simultaneously.

Obama also halted the building of the border fence in 2009.

If those are the two main issues, i say let them finish the fence and give the extra 4k border troops

good. maybe then we get secured borders and then DREAM.

Would it be logical to add DA as an amendment every time republicans try to pass a border security related bill? Just wondering.

I have seen so many viral come backs by anti-immigration policy people and groups since the vote. They are taking names of the ones that voted yes on the Dream Act and threatening the ones that are coming up for election. This is the same thing we did with people that said they were going to say NO to the Dream Act. Who do you think has more traction well of course the anti=immigrant groups there are more of them and more democrats senators up for re-election in republican states. I think we need new ideas none of these worked and we are going to be set back by our hostile tone.

dreaminsocial has a point. the democrats need to learn that the only way to get through to the republicans is to band together and lay in the way if things THEY want. Just like they are doing vice-verse. I hope they learned from that stab in the back that they did yesterday. Saying 'we'll vote for this is you promise to vote for our stuff is now proof that it doesn't work. Dem's start filibustering the hell of whatever the republicans want every time from now on too!!!!!! Give em a taste of their own medicine if you wanna accomplish stuff!!!!!

We don't need to filibuster anything in the Senate because A) We still control the senate and B) Even if anything passes Obama can veto it *if he has the stones to do so*. So no matter what pieces of legislation that the House passes under Boehner's leadership will die in the senate if by some chance we have to filibuster there. The thing Im worried about is losing control of the senate in 2012 because then we can forget about any CIR passing for a good 8 years...too long if you ask me.
If Boehner and the GOP in the House fail to bring anti-immigration legislation and make Obama sign it then we need to stir discontent amongst the GOP's base i.e do what they do and beat them at their game. Too damn bad the Democratic establishment lacks the backbone to pull off these tactics.
