Gained: status quo

Lost:
700,000 new tax payers. I can't be sure about this because I don't know how many of us file income tax using ITIN.

A billion dollars or more in filing fees to USCIS.

100,000 potential servicemen.

700,000 less people USCIS had to worry about.

While paying taxes, for 15 years we couldn't use any US citizen benefits.

Potential business ideas, that could create jobs.

A more capable workforce. My sister worked for a company where out of 20 people in her workgroup, half of them picked up the slack for the other half. But then again, the people who didn't want DREAM to become law are most likely incompetent workers and didn't want to lose their jobs to a BROWN who can do their work 100% better.

Be ready to receive comments claiming you are racist or that you hate Americans after the antis read that comment.

I like your idea but can we also state what we could have accomplished if the DREAM Act passed, at least accomplished with less struggle on our side, I will try to do what I mention below.

For me, I would be able to research in a lab I can't enter even for a tour without proving legal status. My obvious area of research is into renewable energy technologies particularly detailing on fuel cells, or wind generating technologies since my university is a leader in both but more so in the latter then the first technology.

The goal of my research could decrease dependence on oil which costs the US $1 billion per day, kept more money inside the country, decrease the cost of energy, and hopefully generate new technologies that could be exported and bring more money in. I did not spend years in high school researching and speaking in forums to just stand still, though I admit, I have not don't much since I got into college because of obstacles, I will try to move forward on my dream in spite of the recent DREAM Act results.

I lost three years I will never get back trying to overcome obstacles I never anticipated observing, and I have no guarantee that I will successful to research in those labs without documentation, though I will try, if I am not successful, that is the future loss as a result of the DREAM not passing.

I was just thinking about doing my job right. Trust me, I would. Given my status, I don’t take anything for granted. I am an immigrant who has earned a BA. I am so eager to use it. Ideally I would want to earn and further pursue my studies into the counseling area. I believe I would have gone as far as earning my Pupil Personnel Services Credentials along with my masters degree in educational counseling. Ahhhh, soon, soon, be patient my fellow DREAMERs! For now I shall remain an educated immigrant who complies and abides the law. I shall continue to love The United States of America.

Btw, good point cool talker. Remember, know your enemy. Calculate your steps carefully. Choose your words wisely.
