Will be capped at age 24, and 25 max.

That leaves about 80% of Dreamers out. If this kind of crap gets passed, then another DA or CIR or Amnesty will not be possible for another 10-20 yrs or so. Also, the requirements will be ridiculously hard and unrealistic - like mandatory military service and never becoming a citizen.

Probably not because no such thing has even been written. The age cap might be lowered but thats just speculation.

With the Republican becoming the majority of the house and taking over the office in 2012, I can see a republican DA, but like the OP said, 80% will not qualify for the new DA.

People, please forget about Amnesty and the CIR, it will not happen for next 6 years. Maybe in 2018, just maybe..

I agree , next bill shd be CIR bill. I don't think DA as a stand alone bill will ever pass. It has to be complete CIR bill with border security, deal with 12 million people and maybe finished the birthrights and all. This would be a last relief in a llonggg longgg time., Let's hope and pray if republicans can bring some sort of the bill as dems. are sissys and they cannot even stand together with each other. Remember, 6 dems did not vote for dream otherwise it would have been different story today. Atleast, with republicans they all stand together, wheter rite or wrong!!!

we can speculate anything we like, but the truth is both d parties have to deal with this issue no matter what. When God knows better. It will haunt them in the presidential election. They cannot afford to loose again the white house. Therefore, I believe some sort of bill will come on the floor in 2011 and will deal with the whole pkg. That's the only way they will have bipartisam votes. They have to wrk together.

I wish I had a crystal ball.

I think we'll see more enforcement measures before any kind of path to legalization. And even if Republicans feel inclined to pass some sort or legalization package, it will result in more than half of the undocumented population not being able to qualify (i.e. you have to have been here for at least 15 years or some other arbitrary number). The bottom line is either way, we are in for the hottest ride through hell in the next two years.

That's just my two cents, though.
