Hey y'all! I was just wondering how undocumented students go to college after graduating highschool. And how do they pay for their college tuitions? Because I would like to go to college as well.

Any thoughts?

Usually, you would need to fill out college applications in your senior year around September to December, and will receive your acceptance letters around January to May.
Most of the time, we will be classified as out of state student and required to pay a lot more. But in some states, they offer in state tuition for undocumented student. For example, New York and California. You only need to prove that you graduate high school in that state.

I go to a CUNY college in NYC, and I pay in state tuition. The amount is about 2500 a semester, but they add another 100 starting the next semester.

This forum is mainly about how to marry US citizens and how to get into college. Answered many times and constantly brought up without regards for the search engine of the forum.

I'm going to take a guess that you live in California {916 being Sacramento's area code}.

You need to first go to the school you plan on attending with a valid photo id (foreign passport will work). Tell them you would like to apply but do not have a social security #. They will then give you a # to put in place of a social security # when you fill out your application. Once you are accepted you will be given a student ID# that is just like everybody else and you will use that from there on out.

If you attended High School in California for 3 or more years you qualify for in-state tuition through the AB540 program{regardless of status citizen or undocumented, still the same.} If you qualify you will have to print a copy of the AB540 form online, fill it out, then turn it into the school with a copy of your transcripts, copy of your high school diploma, and picture ID.

You are not able to receive any federal or state money, so if yo can't afford college at the in-state tuition rate you are going to need to find a co-signer for a private student loan (bank).

Good Luck,

JEFE
