Hi all. After much consideration, long hours of discussion, and weighing the pros and cons, I will be returning to Colombia in May of this year. This decision comes after the DREAM Act failure and the need to continue with my life. I was born in Medellin, came to the U.S. when I was 10, finished high school and now have a BA from a U.S. college. I am now 22. I was wanted to connect with other Colombian DREAMERS who are considering moving back or have already done so. Post your stories!

Im planning on going back, too, mostly because I don't want to live the rest of my life not reaching my dreams here. I use to think I didnt have a future in my country, but what is my future here? Never being the person and having a career I hope to have? I want to make sure I have enough money in the bank before I go though. But I will be leaving in 2011 too.

Im not Columbia though. Im African.

I thought about it recently also, but there are two things to consider. Number one if you leave, there is a 10 year ban. Number two if finding a job, i'm talking about a regular low pay job, these are find to hard over there as far as i know, and they don't pay that well. Added on to that, is that if you do have a degree your "high paying " job probably won't pay that well either.
However, the good thing is you get you liberties back, you can drive, you can work, no fear of deportations, you can be free.
But those 2 cons have managed to keep me here still.

Colombia is starting to change, i would think about it at some other point in time.

Oh and yes i am Colombian.
