i think adding like 250 hours of community service hours over the 10years along with going to college or joining the military. *Not necessarily 250 hours just putting a random reasonable number out there*, Maybe more like 100-200.

Who thinks this is good?(i dont expect anyone to agree with me lol.)

I don't think this is consistent with the message of DREAM, decriminalizes illegal immigration for children who had no other choice.

I think that, in order to make it more appealing to GOP'ers, it should be modified to require a full four year degree. An associates degree is amongst the easiest "achievements" someone could have, and I think it's an insult to soldiers to equal it to service. Conservatives will be happy to see that more DREAMers would join the military under this ratification. I don't think they could care less about community service.

If this is true, then why are they already punishing us with the wording of this bill. We dont qualify for in state, unless our state already lets us, and we also dont get healtcare, and no federal help with our tuition. Seems like they are punishing us.

If they were looking for ideas - I think the community service ( which was in one of the earlier versions ) is a good idea. I don't think the 4 year college requirement makes sense - but if they wanted to make it geared towards people contributing to the U.S. - maybe a degree or certificate or job offer in a field of high demand - like they do with the foreign worker visas ? Of course studying for something based on it being in "high demand" in 5 or 10 years is very difficult, as this changes all the time. I don't think it should have to be for a particularly high level job, just something that they are having a hard time finding enough workers for. This would have to be kept fairly broad though - you wouldn't want to spend your time training for a field, and then have it suddenly be out of demand.

Actually, I think the GOPs are only concerned with border security. If they add that to the bill, we would probably get more votes regardless of how many years we have to serve.

Just my two cents...

I think its just bs they are speaking. if the boarders are really unsecure like they say, why arent they trying to fix it independent of the DREAM and regarless of it, for the sake of the country. Its all bs I tell ya
