Keith Olbermann was fired by MSNBC sources tell TMZ, and we're told it had everything to do with Comcast's acquisition of NBC.

Sources connected with the network tell us ... Comcast honchos did not like Keith's defiance and the way he played in the sandbox.

Our sources say Keith has around two years left on his contract, and he'll be paid his salary -- around $7 million a year.

We don't know if Comcast will let Keith make a deal with another network as part of an exit agreement, but it's a good bet he'll be benched for a minimum of 6 months, and probably longer.

pretty crazy? are you fucking kidding me? have you listen to Glenn Beck and company? Keith was probably the only sane voice in corporate media. ( Besides Rachel, she's next though)

You should be ashamed too, Keith was one of the few that dedicate a segment of his show in FAVOR of the Dream act back in December...but i guess that's pretty crazy to you.

You got the point for Beck. There should be a disease named after him, something that has all the simptoms of rabbies.
At moments, Keith and Jon Stewart raced who's gonna be the biggest fanboy of the president. I'd kind of forget that race if Keith (or Jon, for that matter) got some sweat on his behind and go to Iraq and Afghanistan to cover what's REALLY happening there, like Rachel did.
There's no sane voice in the corporate media, and no freedom of speech either.
P.S. My jaw dropped when I saw who's Bill O'Reilly gonna interview before SuperBowl kick-off: none other than the prez himself...

It's customary for the President to be interviewed before the Superbowl by someone from the channel on which it will be shown. It happens every year. This time, Fox is showing the Superbowl.

don't be such a sheep.

he's same as every other "crazy" news commentators that are out there, whether it be from Fox, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, and etc. stop putting this guy on your pedestal, it's unhealthy, especially with a guy that has a 7 million a year contract. (don't you dare start comparing contracts with that of Hannity, Beck, and O'Reilly.)

it's always the same drama every time a commentator "quits" or gets "fired" that the fanboys rush to to defend their heroes and claim that was the last sane voice for America.

gg America.

Important. Please view, according to this.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/0...tent=FullStory

Quote:
NBC spokesman Jeremy Gaines said the Comcast merger had nothing to do with the decision.

An MSNBC source told the New York Times' Brian Stelter that Olbermann's exit was "all about what he did after the suspension."

The network suspended Olbermann last November for donating to three Democratic candidates, including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot in Tucson January 8. The suspension brought Olbermann's already volatile relationship with his bosses to a new low. Instead of apologizing for his actions and keeping quiet, the host turned his silencing into a cause celebre, issuing a statement apologizing to his viewers for "unnecessary drama." As a result, MSNBC President Phil Griffin threatened to fire Olbermann if he went public with his grievances on other networks.

Whatever the reason for his departure, Olbermann leaves a strained and tense environment behind him, and MSNBC moved quickly to fill the hole in its schedule. Within minutes of the announcement, the network unveiled its restructured evening lineup. Lawrence O'Donnell, host of "The Last Word," will move to 8 P.M., while "The Ed Show" with Ed Schultz will air at 10 P.M. Rachel Maddow's program will remain in its 9 P.M. slot.

A source close to MSNBC management said network executives have grown increasingly impressed by O'Donnell and feel he has "grown into the job nicely." According to the source, Schultz will play well with both the late night and West Coast audiences.

"The debut of the new lineup will be the State of the Union, with Lawrence now the central player," the source said.

For the people that have called keith crazy or that he's just the same as everybody else in the media, can you please provide some evidence.
What does his salary have to with anything?

I also want to know who the crazy people are from abc and nbc.
