my friend from mexico said him and his family actually crossed the rio grande in the 80's

My family and I came over the river in 1977,. I was five at the time barely remember it. I don't like the term "Wetback" it is a derogatory term that I don't want my mother and father to be deemed with. We left Monterrey my parents were educated in Mexico looking for a better life. I don't describe that as "wetback" what if you come from Canada are you "ground back". How about adventures in search of better for there lives and families life sounds better.
