Hey guys, do ya'll think that I can go to the Mexican consulate and apply for a passport? That would be a form of ID right so therefore I wouldn't be "illegal" anymore right? Will I have to go back to Mexico in order for this to happen or can it be done here in the States.

I'm 17 so I have no ban and I'm trying to do everything legally. Have any of you done this? Please help me because I'm about to enter college and I need to have some form of a legit ID or SSN and what not. Thanks in advance.

Getting a passport doesn't mean you won't be undocumented anymore, it just means that you have a valid ID issued by the Mexican government. In order to become legal you have to go through another process. Imagine if just by getting a Mexican passport we would all be legal? Then all of us would have been legal many yrs ago!

But I can still do that from here without having to go to Mexico right? I mean as long as I have some sort of legit ID, I don't mind. What other process would I have to take in order to become legal?

yes you would have to go to the mexican consulate here in the US. You could look in resources and click on ways to legalize.

newgen you are really misinform maybe you should talk to your parent about it or visit http://immigrate2us.net or uscis.gov

because what you just said is close to non sesnse. Anyone can get their matricula and/or passport. that does not mean you are legal, matter fact it gives a hint that ur ilegal haha. LOL the irony. seriously everywhere i go i always think that, when they see my matricula at the club, bar ect. They have that funny look in there face and some know other just dont give a f**k. Not trying to discourage from getting one, by any means necessary get one but seriously read up and get inform. As cliche as it sounds "Knowledge is power." Good place to start is here troll around and that other website i gave you.
