No. Avoid Amtrack and Greyhound. There have been multiple cases where ICE popped in for a visit.

Where are you traveling from? The above poster is half correct. If you're traveling near very near the border, then there is a risk. If you're traveling on the northeast corridor line, you have nothing to worry about. I've used that route several times and had no problems.

Recall Abaddon's story, who was traveling in the Northeast corner of the Country, after getting asked for his papers in a bus or train, do not recall which. He continued on using the service and notes on mulltiple instances where he was asked for his papers on both Amtrak and Greyhound systems.

That is unbelievable. Glad I saw this post. I was planning on traveling to NYC from CT by bus. Ideally I thought there would be no risk in this since I've used amtrak for the same route without any problems whatsoever. Can anyone suggest which bus service I can use to limit risk? Also, let's just say an ICE agent pops in and confronts you, how do you reply?

Flying has the least risk atm for travel IMO, that is if you cannot find someone to drive you personally.

If an agent pops in you are pretty much cornered, they are going person by person, there have been people that have mentioned feigning sleep, but doubt that works, if you say you are a citizen that could seriously get you in a lot more trouble than you could possibly want, specially when you cannot provide even a DL, saying that you are a LPR will cause them to inquire about green card or proof of legal status, so its really really very bad luck if you find yourself in that situation.

I would think that ICE agents board buses and trains at terminals, but cannot be entirely sure about that, I only fly.

My friend went from NY to Florida Miami by Amtrak and he said it was safe. No one ask for anything during the trip.

They do it randomly, someone details their experience traveling from new York to Chicago and getting caught and the several times he was asked since then (since he has been processed, he just shows those papers when they ask him).

I have traveling from NYC to CT hundred of times by Amtrak and Greyhound. I never see any situation towards ICE or BP.

Well, Chicago is kind of near the border, then there is a risk. But If you're traveling on the northeast line, you don't need to worry, but the best thing I think is to avoid to travel because we never know. My friend did roundtrip NY-MIA, (northeast), it was safe.
