Hi guys,

I finally decided that I want to move out of the country. I turned 21 this year, and I could no longer stand not being able to drive, get a loan to finance my studies, not being able to live a normal life, etc. Tomorrow I will be speaking with my counselor so I can apply to an Australian university. Now my question is (especially to those that have migrated to a different country), would living in the US as an undocumented alien (I have an overstayed visa) hurt my chances? I mean, why would a country accept a person who has a history of breaking another country's immigration law?

Thank you in advance.

I don't think it matters since your going to be applying as a citizen of your own country correct??

Plus if you have the money moving out of the country isn't a problem...

Good luck...

I remember researching Canada and them saying that having been undocumented in the US does not automatically disqualify you from applying to Canada. I assume it is the same for other countries.

Yes, I will keep you guys updated. Hopefully, after many tries of finding legal status here in the US and failing, this will bring a result that's favorable for myself.

Thank you guys for the replies. I appreciate the time and interest.

How do you pay for it? Did you apply here in the US or on your home country?
