I would move to Canada for sure as I have an uncle, aunt and cousins there. However, I would definitely be cautious of the job market...which is much weaker than the one in the United States. It's very difficult to get a job in Canada. It's not impossible..but you really have to have the right skills. Also, Canada's lifestyle parallels the American way of life. I understand we can put Australia in this category as well but its in a completely different part of the world. Both countries are great in my opinion..I would personally have a look at Canada first.

Although I have a few relatives in Canada I would pick Australia. My Dad always told me that out of all of the countries in the world he's been to it was the best. He used to say that even though the two years he lived there he was a bum it was still the best two years of his life. That's not really a reason with supporting facts I know but it always made quite an impression on me about Australia.

Canada. They do have jobs in the northern oil fields from what I have been told, and they pay very well.

At first i would look at Canada becuase it's close to the US, but I just begun the process of applying to Australia because there are more engineering jobs and because their point system just changed. All I need now is to pass the IELTS exam and get 8 out of 9 on all 4 sections. If I do, I'm on my way to OZ. I just bought my practice workbooks to prepare for the test, and I also submitted my skills assesment application.

I'm friends with several French patissier interns and they've been to Australia, Canada, South Africa, Reunion Island, Japan and Australia always came out on top as a very laid back country with a very diverse landscape[beaches, mountains, swamps, rural, metropolitan]. The complaint with Canada was the "lack of seasons", + high cost [vancouver].

congrats man on taking a step forward for your future...I took the IELTS as a requirement for Canadian PR...it's not bad at all if the only language you know is English (like me) hehe.

Canada, BC specifically, because it's closer to my family (West Coast!) and culturally similar to the United States--it's the least foreign foreign country an American could go to. No culture shock, and our economies are pretty well integrated so degrees from American universities work in Canada and vice versa.
