Hi Guys,

I have over stay visa

I have a driving licence but expired 1.5 years ago. I cannot get another one without my paper work. I don't have SSN. I drive a vehicle registered under my citizen friend's name and has insurance. If police pulls over my for any reason, what should I do? Should I give my driving licence which is expired or should i just say i don't have a licence?

Thanks

Well either way your getting your car taken away buddy Your also going to get a ticket for driving without a licence... Your only hope would be getting a Washington state driving licence...

Well welcome aboard Heineken...He can't arrest you unless you have warrants after your arrest. usually a first offence meaning getting stop for the first time will just get you a ticket.. A second offence is a ticket and sometimes includes 2 weeks in jail..

You can tell the officer anything you want but they have a database and he will say you had 1 year to fix it.. It just won't fly...

There have been posts on here about a WA state licence try to look for them ...

I think you just need to show proof of residency in the state with a water bill and bank account.

My dad's application got rejected twice. It's almost impossible to get one nowadays.

I recently was pulled over for speeding:/ and the police officer asked me if I was a citizen or had a permission to be here, and I said yes, but I really dont. I had to answer with very good english and I had to act friendly, but from inside I was so nervous! Anyways just becareful cause they are planning to approve another law for the immigrants. They want to make all the police officers stop any latino looking like and ask for papers. :/ Ugh we need Dream Act to be approved fast!!! And good luck dude.

Wow your brave Erika..

I got pulled over once too and I told the officer the truth..

He ended up giving me a big racist lecture on why I should not be driving in this country...

Luckily he let me go after with no ticket.. I guess it's safer to be honest in California..

I got pulled over once and the cop ask me if I were a citizen. I just told him that I go to school here and show him my student ID with a smile on my face. He let me go without a ticket. He probably mistake me for exchange student. I didn't lie, just not answering his question directly lol.
