Damn, this guy is my new hero. He's risking everything he worked hard for in order to advocate for all of us!

I bet there are many more out there that have been able to achieve leading roles in their fields of study or career paths who are intimidated of losing everything for coming out, and I do not blame them. The courage that it must have taken to take that stance after achieving so much must be intimidating, however, stories like those always show me that the perceived glass ceiling that results from our status may not only have the potential to be raised but broken as well.

So Jose Antonio Vargas is from the Philippines??? Isn't the Philippines a common wealth of the United States??

I wish Spain would have kept it.. By the way I heard they still speak Spanish in some parts of the Philippines..

Yes, read the article. And no it used to be commonwealth of the U.S. until sometime after World War II where they asked/demanded for independence. Big mistake because America turned out to be the richest most powerful nation in the next decades and presently.

The U.S. literally bought it from Spain. And yes, there are parts where they speak some weird Filipino/Spanish hybrid dialect.
