I am very well aware that following statement will decrease my approval ratings on this forum: I would be conservative, if I was legal.

My curiosity leads me to ask how many are facing a similar dilemma?

Edit:

I would like to clarify my stance. I am a Democrat, but I meant that I would have been conservative if I was a citizen or legal immigrant.

Independent.

Republicans are crazy, Democrats are pathological liars.

Fiscally conservative, socially liberal. I will more likely vote for Democrats though. Just for the fact that they are more willing to take up minority rights.

I hate democrats but not half as much as republicans. Independent for me. That way when candidate X loses by 1% I can annoy friends by saying I voted Nader.

Political groups only care about themselves and not what is best for the people. Conservative is the last thing i would be. Conservative republicans are racist half the time and i am not joining a group that didnt accept me in the first place.

Funny story. I always thought myself to be having core Republican values (God, lower taxes, and strong military presence). That did a complete 180 once I figured out our family is not documented as of yet and is going through a petition process.

Now, I can safely say I'm leaning towards Democratic values but more on independent side.

a full republican office will eventually bring up a dictatorship. and a full democrat office will eventually bring up communism. so neither is good alone. i am more demo than repub but still not full demo. repubs have too much influence from religion and democrats from hippies.
