some people have been enrolled in the military under false documentation. But the basic eligibility rules for joining the military are still the ones you listed you MUST be a U.S. citizen or resident alien to serve... no ifs or buts

But like i said there has been a few cases were peoples backgrounds and documents were not entirely looked at and got in... but these people are fighting to stay in or have been giving a second chance one way or another. (basically got lucky because of someone's mistake)

My father told me a long time ago the US was giving people GC if they served 4 years in the military but i dont think there has been anything like that after 1980 i think... i could be wrong... my father is known to talk out of his ass a lot hahaha

Did we not watch the Dream Act hearing?

there have been attempts by undocumented immigrants to join the military and all of them have been deported.

A country is not worth fighting for if this country wants to DEPORT you. Don't join if you are not guaranteed the right to stay in this country.

Resident Alien means you gave a GC. Under Dream Act bill, you would get Conditional GC and therefore can serve 2 years in the military during the conditional period.

ok first of all keep the irs out of this because they dont care if your legal or not... all they want is their money...

the military will not let you join if your illegal period! they know that by letting someone join that is not legal is a road to citizenship and they are not going to make it easy.

the two cases you listed are unique... they beat the system somehow... but that doesnt mean you can just walk in a marine corps office and sign up... try it just kicks lol they will turn you away. Sure they want you... they just cant...

the bottom line is as long as your still undocumented its not going to happen...
