I am currently pursuing an AA degree on Computer Maintenance Technology. My plan after graduating is to go back home and start a networking cafe or (if lucky) get a job in a big company like Toshiba International.

I plan to major in Linguistics. Luckily, I live in California and because I am an AB540 student, tuition is not as bad as it could be. I will be down with my GE this fall semester, but I will be applying to a couple of CSU's next month and hopefully attend Spring 2012. The only thing that I am worried about is coming up with money to pay for it all.

Does anyone know how much it cost to attend a CSU for a year? Also one thing that I have been wondering is, do they charge a specific amount for units? Or do you pay basically a fixed amount regardless of classes? For example, if I take 12 units will I pay the same for 14 units?

The only thing I have been able to find on the internet is a fixed amount, for example

0-7 units would be some $2000

and

7.5 and more units would be some $5000.

I am just a little confused. Any help would be appreciated

This all depends if you are gonna be living on the campus or commuting from home. The tuition part really isn't that bad if you apply to many scholarships. The biggest expense for you will be if you decide to live at the campus.

I'm still debating this, since I plan to start college next year. It's a toss up between something in design or IT. I'll probably take the former and teach myself some programming. The artsy fartsy types are more fun than nerds, and hey a degree is a degree. I think. Still looking into it lol

Yea that's why I'm taking the straightforward "not too hard" path. I just want to have some kind of flexible degree without the debt part.

i unno, i'm an artist and engineer. I was disillusioned at all the fakeness in the art world. But one thing is, you can work in your field as an artist as opposed to pretty much anything else.

and yeah, bitches are hot and easy, but not gf material IMO

Currently pursuing my BS in materials science and engineering, and a little bit delayed as a result of rising cost of college and certain obstacles I had to get through.

As far as future plans are concerned after getting that degree, I have absolutely no clue anymore. My original plan is pretty much out of the window with the cost and the obstacles I have been observing.
