third world countries really crazy about first world countries degree?

i not sure if this is only the people behavior of my country

in my country when someone graduate from u.s , u.k, Australia any first world countries.. everyone would look up to him

i dont understand why is that? i think a degree from first world country and third world country would not make that much diffferent........ third world people are just brainwash by media u think so?

No, I don't think so. If you look at the world's top colleges most, if not all of them, are in first world countries. I know that not a single college from my country is at the top. So yes, it matters, especially since it implies that you speak an extra one or two languages.

You seem to be the very example of supreme education with your excellent grammar and punctuation. The problem with the United States is that it does not require everyone to graduate from high school or learn to use the spell checker on the computer.

Some students come here chasing the "American Dream". That doesn't mean the dream is real.

I think the problem with the American education system is American culture. The celebrity obsessions have made Americans undervalue the importance of a proper education. American teachers are overworked and underpaid. American parents are too obsessed with their own careers to care as much about their children as they should. American students are unwilling to learn, preferring to obsess over pop stars, athletes and what's happening socially ( boyfriend, girlfriend, friends, parties) instead. America is a very media-driven society and anyone who dropped out of school can find 15 minutes of fame with a YouTube video.

"Best education system" can be measured in many different ways but I will use student achievement scores only.

Consistently for the last few years the European systems have faired well: Finland has been cited as having the highest achieving student population in a public system. Other countries that are often found in the top ten include: Switzerland, South Korea, Canada and Ireland.

The main features of Finland's system which I believe make it worthy of the top spot is that they have the highest literacy rates among kids and adults have among the highest percentage of the population who are regular readers (for both study and leisure), highest mean Math scores in several age groupings, regularly high (or highest Science scores), high level of physical fitness and health and a system that accepts less than 20 percent of the people who apply to be teachers.

In conclusion, American High Schools and below are under performing and fail to produce adequate results. The top universities in the UK such as Oxford, Cambridge, St. Andrews, and Edinburgh are some non- American universities that are worthwhile. Open admission to many European universities makes them very overcrowded and the elite French universities do not admit Americans. American Universities are still among the best in terms of final result.
