I wanted to report a successful airplane trip. I took off from Long Beach and landed at JFK, using only a Mexican unstampped passport with Jetblue airlines. TSA was very easy. I ended up purchasing the ticket online and checked in and printed my tickets a day before the flight. I dressed well, greeted the TSA agent and gave her the ticket and my passport open to the identification part. She looked at it, verified the authenticity of the documents and let me pass. She only took about five extra seconds because my full name and last names are very long and did not fit in the ticket. I then went through security and passed, although I was picked to do a random search. They swabbed my laptop with something and let me go. I only carried a laptop bag and a small carry-on bag in order to avoid anyone else looking at my passport. Arriving at JFK was simple, I got off and no one even looked at me.

I also flew today, but I was pretty much being an idiot the entire time, never again am I flying so freaking early in the morning, almost missed my flight, seemed to have extraordinary luck in getting in the wrong line at the wrong time, half way through the fast bag drop line the agent left and did not return, causing me to lose a lot of time. 15 minutes before the departure time of my flight I was done checking the bag and the TSA line was going out the door of the airport, Ft. Lauderdale, than going through the check the x-ray machine had an issue while my stuff was in there, apparently due to the bag of the person in front of me, which held me another 5 minutes, I was out of the security check at 7:15 for a flight that supposedly departed at 6:55, I was going expecting the plane to be gone and that I would probably have to end up spending an extra couple hundred to get on another flight, but ironically, the flight had not left, in fact it left more than 30 minutes behind schedule, and I was not even the last person on.

With all that said and done, I was not even thinking about my status the entire time, took a lot more risks than I have ever taken in an airport, and was extremely fortunate that nothing happened.

I was the next person when the TSA agents changed shifts, handed the passport and my poorly printed ticket to the TSA agent, he checked the departure time, and the name than signed his name on the ticket. I went through the new x-ray machine, no issues there either.

I have never had any issues checking bags, they usually assume I am a tourist or something and occasionally one of the agents will start talking to me in spanish.

Arriving is never an issue, just get out of the plane, pick up your bags if anything was checked if not just leave.

I assume that traveling on airplane now won't be as riskier as it was before since now we are low priority for deportation. I traveled once on airplane before and didnt have a problem at all and i also hear a lot of you guys dont have problems either. but What do you guys think about know? are we safer in airports?

What's the worst thing that can happen? Get detained and go home with a work permit on hand?

get detained and find out that this executive order may be as flawed in implementation as Secure Communities.

get detained and go home with a work permit on hand is the best case scenario IMO.

Exactly. Fuck it. I'm going on vacation in December. I'll be flying to San Diego. I hope I can come back home with a work permit lol.

If you get detained, can you still get on the plane and go to your destination?

Well, you'd be detained. If you're detained, you go nowhere. If you go with them, that'll probably become arrest pretty soon.
