So lets face it...CIR is dead at least for a decade. Dream Act might have a slight chance in 2013. Lets say DA passes. Most of us are very close to our families..mainly parents and siblings. Parents will obviously never be able to fix their status but we will if DA passes. My question is simple...would you want to stay here without your parents? Because lets face it...nobody can live here without status all their lives..they will have to make moves one day or another...

CIR has as much a chance as DA. Majority of the lawmakers on both sides of aisle want reform done comprehensively. (yes, some republicans do want to break the status quo but politically they don't think it's feasible). I strongly believe that if any reform happens, it will happen in a comprehensive manner. Legalization is not the only critical par of CIR, they would want some sort of e-verify, H1 visa reform, STEM graduate retention etc. All of these are part of CIR, not just legalization. If CIR is delayed by 10 years, then all of those other aspects of reform are also delayed for 10 years. I don't think this country can afford that.

Not the case.

You are no different to Republicans than the adult fence jumpers, and Republicans have no more compassion for you than those farm workers that they seek to deport. I don't understand why you feel that you are special or deserving.

I also don't understand why you and others are willing to trade the Dream Act for the E-Verify. What would that do for 80% of illegals who would suffer so that you could be legalized? That kind of utilitarian reasoning comes from brain-damaged people.

2-3 % is not a slight chace.
Closest chance DA had was last year, when GOP fools failed to recognize the importance of the DA. America has lost its chance for revival.

Every dreamer including myself is VERY MUCH deserving of fair treatment and to permanent residency. I'm not going to start pointing out the usual things but to keep it short..we are American in every way but the paper. I can give you a million more reasons why we are deserving of this. It does not matter whether Republicans have compassion or not. They are cornered and I see Obama choke slamming them in 2012. They will cave in one day on Dream Act. You're talking as if "illegals" are not suffering right now. Dreamers...keep doing...we definitely doing something right when you have nay sayers constantly trolling.

No you don't. You are just another illegal immigrant subject to an immediate deportation according to the eyes of law and Republicans. Legally, you are no different than the dude who jumped the fence yesterday.

Wake up and smell the reality, Mr. Illegal Immigrant.

Actually America doesn't deserved hard working immigrants like us. This is the harsh reality my friend. Republicans doing major damage to this country by blocking such legislation that would allow educated individuals on top of their game both academically and socially to contribute to the society. Its the 21st century where it doesn't matter what someone's skin looks like. Why don't u wait till the 2012 election before telling me to wake up. Huge landslide victory beckons for Obama me thinks.

Hopefully my family's I-140 petition goes through by that time.

I can make it with or without the DA or CIR. DA would've just brought short term relief in all honesty.

How is CIR dead for a decade when there have been talks to passing it recently?
Once we get a strong border security bill and pass E-Verify then CIR will follow.

Dream Act has a big chance of passing it in 2011. It will most likely pass with E-Verify.

I'll agree with DA User on this one. CIR is not dead for a decade. I think at this point in time passage of CIR is more likely than that of the Dream Act.
