Hi, my friends and I wanted to go on a road trip from FL to AL, would I have anything to worry about if I rode passenger, I'm the only one of my status and I'm not driving just tagging along, do they do a check of everyone in the car for no reason?

Yes, it is likely that they will.
A friend of mine got pulled over by having a broken head/tail light and the cop asked for all their IDs, including the 3 passengers in the car. Luckily, they were all USCs so no problem there. They may do the same for traffic violations, so if you really want to go with your friends, make sure the driver is safe and check if the car is up to standards so you don't get questioned.

I mean, its a straight forward trip, probably 10 hour trip, the car is up to date (rented) under her license, and I don't think it goes along any state border, except when entering GA to AL for an hour, if there are any checkpoints, can't you avoid it or won't they just ask the driver?

yeah if we knew where you were coming from that would help. or what route you plan to take. i live in alabama so i could help more with more info. if you happen to end up on 280, which i don't see why you would, make sure you guys go the limit. ok to go a bit over but local and state law enforcement do hang out there a bit. going on 65 you should be good. local law enforcement shouldn't be asking for ID on that interstate, but doesn't mean they won't. I assume state law enforcement would for sure. your biggest worry on either road would have to be speeding. small discrepancies like broken light, etc. would be left for local to encroach on. everything seems to be business as usual for now tho. but do be careful. pm or continue on this thread for more questions. i live in the greater birmingham area, especifically hoover, so if you guys need help with anything lemme know.
