Most of them are conceited idiots whining about their shortsightedness. I really feel bad for those hit with health problems though.

are you academically incompetent? don't go to college.
are you academically competent? go to community college then get a free ride at some state university
poor networking skills? learn them
don't buy shit you can't afford (expensive homes, expensive vehicles, latest gadgets, etc.)
live under your means
save money and diversify your investments
don't move out of your parents' home at the age of 18
move to a different state if everything is too expensive where you live

This said, America needs socialized education beyond high school, a better health care system, more manufacturing jobs, and higher taxes if you want to war and keep everyone happy at home. Globalization makes having a non-service job almost impossible but this is not something that's gonna change soon.

I can completely agree with all of the above said , At the same time it some what angers me that people who have the possibilities in this country that WE as dreamers want so bad have put themselves in this situation .

Im all for per suing your passion but come on if you go to college for an African studies major.. do you not think about the job market you will be hitting with such major?

Before we start playing blame the victim first, think about your father or mother or whoever brought you here; did they choose to find themselves in the situation that took them all the way to the US?

My father has never denied the fact that due to his poorly financial decisions he brought his very prosperous business (at a point) down , which end it up being one of the 3 reasons he left the country and brought us here.

Im not blaming the victim, im sure each situation is different like those people who worked at all those companies that went under i mean they couldnt help it . what im trying to get is that we are all seeing the current economic situation and people are still living beyond their means. Besides standing infront of wall street what is that going to get you? theyre not going to change or take a paycut themselves?

What I wanted to get across was that many times we forget where we come from. You know, people should be able to do what they want and live relatively happy with what they do, but if there's no opportunity of that and you are living paycheck to paycheck every single pay period, then what is the chance of your having an accident with no insurance because you can't afford it, get backed up on your debt, mortgage, and a long list of things and end up on the street? The way this country is, that is the risk we take everyday. Everyday is a gamble.

Looks like half the folk there can't even come up with a reason why they're there in the first place. Seems to me like the usual youth-led ''I'm against the world'' bs.

To see what I mean, just read some of the answers:

Your thoughts?
Give me "papers," and I will not protest about that. They think the US has it bad in terms of income disparity? Visit a shantytown in Brazil.

Americans tend to protest about things that make us pose the question: Are you kidding me?
An example, people work at Albertsons and go on strike. Are you kidding me? You work at Albertsons!!!!!!!! If you do not like their policies, get another job; you're legal. Do you prefer to be undocumented and not have a job?

No offense to anyone, but things like that really anger me. I have a value-what-you-have view of Americans.

As I once told eddy; we are exempt from those problems. We have grown up valuing the money that we earn under the table. We do not take "student loans" as those 99% people do because we are not eligible. We pay everything out of our own pocket.

In a way a our drea status has given us the endurance and stamina to live in the American economic system. We are more adaptable often switching around thrugh minimum wage jobs everytime our applications are "verified". In a way we are critical thinkers that analyze the economic society as a "whole".
