Signed. But seriously..what will this petition accomplish? I've signed thousands of petitions in the past..what happened?

Petitions are out of style now...they do nothing unless its a real petition that gets a law on a ballot in a state. The rage now is street protests that last 4 weeks at a time

A protest is not a bad idea. Would it be better to focus on the dream act or CIR?

CIR is dead for at least another 5 years. DA has a slight chance in 2013.

I don't know, dream act is a more specific goal but CIR can generate much bigger protests

Perhaps a push for CIR but a compromise for DA? I dont know if I agree that CIR is dead for the nearish future. Ive read recently that Alabama is suffering economically from their newly enacted anti illegal immigrant laws.

yeah i agree with CB124. Protest for CIR and not just Dream Act would be more crucial. By getting CIR into the spotlight through protest, it will be more likely to get attention on the Dream Act, as well as develop the Act itself even further. Jrpallares, although Alabama is seeing the difficult effects of such a law, it's not the only state to do so. And not just economically. Yes, farm workers are at a sharp decline and kids are dropping out of school left and right. But something that caught my attention a few days ago was an article on the shortage of farm labor. There's a group of farmers that has gone beyond getting probationers or inmates, and has instead had to rely on each other to carry out work. They are uniting and helping each other pull of the harvest. Though they might not get to it all, it looks like a short term solution. Right now, my fear is that they are finding rapid solutions to some of the problems with the law. But all this aside, would it be real hard to unite in protest, such as the occupywallstreet etc., for a goal that has more potential of being resolved?
