legal advice, for immigrating abroad

this is just an open question, for anyone who knows some info, and would like to share with me.

I am about 3 semesters away from graduating college. I work go to school, and thats pretty much it. I know that with my major I will be able to find a job, abroad. Now obviously I would go back to my home country first, then apply for a visa in my country of choice. I just wanted to know, what that whole process is like, how long it would take, or even if i could do it. Now I know that it would depend on the country, but i prefer a place that I could still use English as my initial language. I was thinking about places like Canada and maybe even Australia, since it is close to my home country.

I'm not sure about how long it will all take, but if you can find an company that could employ you first (assuming this is what you're after) before moving to your own country to get a visa, it would be the best route to take. Most companies will release statements that they have hired you and when you can start and you could request to have it sent to you in writing. You could then use that document to apply a working visa when you get home. If you can prove to the embassy that you have a job waiting abroad, it would be faster for them to grant you a visa.
