Hello fellow dreamers,

I am in a bit of a pickle here. For the last few months I worked for a data entry firm as an independent contractor (1099), but now I am required to get a business license for the city I am in because there will be an audit to check if all the contractors had business licenses. I am wondering if I am able to do so without any complications.

Here's a copy of the business license application:
http://www.cityofrc.us/civica/fileba...sp?BlobID=5628

The area that bothers me is the Personal Information area, as it asks for a SSN and a Driver's License #.

I have a gotten an EIN through my ITIN, if that helps.

Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, but none with my name. Couldn't they act as cosigners?

Also, I did some further research and there's been some people on this site who have claimed to have obtained a business license with just their ITIN.

Either way, I'll take any advice you give me.

Well I own a business in the State of Washington but California has some of the same rules we do. Fill the application answering all the blanks. If the question does not apply to you write N/A. That can be your answer if you don't have a driver license. As far as the Social Security Number write you ITIN. Unless the city of Rancho Cucamonga has a city law against ITIN you will be alright. Finally make sure you don't have to register as a contractor with other departments and make sure you give a call to the department of revenue on how you are going to pay sales and income tax. If you have more questions let me know.
