Hello guys so i graduated from high school this year but I decided to go to college after dream act passes.. Do you think I made a smart choice? :0 I chose this path because I have a stable job that pays me very well and I am just gonna save as much as i can till the dream act passes and when it does, i am gonna apply for Fafsa and scholarship so that I only have to pay a small amount of tuition...

You know you can apply for a student visa if you leave before you are 18 years and 6 months old from your home country right? Though you seem intent on not doing that, I just think you have the right to know.

Dream Act is not going to pass. Don't pin your hopes on it. Go to college, community college preferably. You will save a lot of money. Transfer out to a 4 year. Once you graduate, you have the option to leave. I am 100% sure DA will not even pass by the time you graduate. It's a dead issue.

Bad choice kiddo, Dream act will not pass. Don't put your life on hold for a stupid imaginary bill.

I would like to add..we're not exaggerating here. This bill is never going to pass. Two people can't be wrong about this. I'm sure plenty others have this opinion as well. We're not pulling this from our rear and we're not being pessimistic either. This is reality and we have to learn how to live with it. We're living in a place which will never see the light of day. It is time to move out of it. That is the solution. That is our Dream.

No I disagree. It will pass one day, but I predict 6-8 years from now.

Yes, I think this is the case as well. By then, I predict most of us will be gone from this country. But for the younger generation, they should definitely go to college because they might just benefit from DA. But one thing is for sure, there will be no DA for the current group of Dreamers.

I first started hearing about the Dream Act when I was 18 years old. I'm close to 30 now.

Don't put your life on hold for something that might or might not happen. If you can afford it and want to go to college, find a way. If you're happy working and earning a living, then do that.

I found a way to pay for college. Got my bachelors, then got my masters degree and now have a fairly comfy job. It was tough to get through it all given our status and all, but I don't regret one bit of it.
