Hello, need some info for someone. She wanted to apply for scholarships.

Bu right now in their system she is a citizen. She falsely put down citizen when she applied for college. She has been going to college for 2 years now.

I know this was wrong (she didn't know), but if she applies for AB131 now, what will be the consequences?

Is it better to just leave it as is now and forget about the scholarships??

The private scholarships are starting next year. She has a scholarship lined up.

Anyone?

Has anyone changed their status in their college?

I am attending and finishing a community college right now and i am registered as a US citizen. But i recently applied to csu's as a non Citizen and a non Resident. I was too scared of the consequences (like getting caught and not being eligible for the CA dream act).

The consequences if discovered is that they will consider this fraud, a felony, and it "may" disqualify her for the federal DREAM Act if it passes, or any other process of adjusting that "may" become available.

However, I am using may rather than will, the DREAM Act has not passed so it is impossible to determine what it will stipulate, but my hunch is that they will keep that portion in the DREAM Act which she would fall under as a reason to be disqualified.

I'm pretty sure in all the legislation, they've removed the bar to falsely claiming U.S. citizenship...
