leave? Why do you want to live your lives with all this stress on your shoulders. I've been thinking about it and the only reason I want to stay here for the mean time is to get a good education. Once I get my diploma I'm out. I'll go probably to Mexico, work there for a couple years, find my love, and then just go around the world. I'll probably end up somewhere in Canada and then just go back to the USA to retire. But really think about it guys, there are soooooo many people out there with problems way bigger. for example, my 14 year old cousin couldn't move his neck and had blurry vision on Monday and today he is getting surgery to take a tumor out of his head. I would much rather be illegal than go through that. This is a little bump in the road we live and we shouldn't make it a big one. We have so much potential. I know a lot of you can't move because of financial troubles but go on a plane and live with a relative in your native country until you get your feet of the ground. Life is about having a good time and being happy and from what I see on these boards is depression and despair. You don't have to be in the USA to be happy. I would much rather be in Mexico happy than in this country constantly worrying and having barriers because I don't have a 3x2 card in my pocket.

Leave to where??? I've been here 26 years so this is my home. My whole family is here (and legal). I have nowhere else to go. Maybe for an 18 year old it's different so by all means, don't let me hold you back.

Tho I've "only" been here over 21 years of my 28. Plus my home country has some of the highest crime rates in the Caribbean, so that's also a deterrent. Yea crappy options indeed.

I'm staying here because I've found the love of my life. And at it's right time, that could help with my situation..eventually...but that's not what's that important to me.
Education also, but I'm not too excited about that lately with all the stupid high tuition costs I'm having to deal with.

I can't leave without a degree. Once I get my degree, I'm out man. Can't take this sh*t anymore.

^All of the above. I've been here since I was 2 (I've been here 23 years). I don't even remember what Jamaica looks like. The family members that I have there are complete strangers. So, I'd be going back to nothing. No job prospects, no where to live and no support system.

Hopefully, I can finish my degree here. And if all else fails, immigrate to another country in the next 4-5 years. Part of me is still sticking it out because I'd just rather not leave and then spend the 10 years kicking myself.

I think the way to go is to build up a chunk of money before you leave, then you have options. Or getting a degree first and credentials. When you get there, you want to hit the ground running.
