I told my girlfriend three months after I met her, knowing full well that the disclosure of my status was going to be pivotal. We are still together a year later. She is nothing short of spectacularly supportive.

All of you, don't let your status affect your search for companionship. If someone you meet doesn't want to be with you because you are undocumented, they are so, so not worthy of you.

I was dating a guy last semester, and we weren't exactly serious but we were moving in that direction. We were talking one day and he asked me why I was so guarded. He asked me "I think you're fragile. You don't want anyone to see it, but I do. Something is constantly breaking you heart... What is it? You can trust me." and damn, I felt so bad. I wanted to be honest with him. But I couldn't do it. I wouldn't open up to someone I unless I was really serious with them and felt like they wouldn't think I was after them for a GC
