I've only traveled once to VA, with my valid passport and everything went fine. They only checked to see if my name matched my boarding pass. I was hoping to travel again but most of the schedules have a connecting flight. Is there a different protocol when it comes to that? I have no idea if they ask you for your passport again at a different airport or if you just wait with the same boarding pass. Has anyone else done that? I would greatly appreciate any information. Thank you in advance!

For connecting flights within the continental US, they do not re-check your identity. Just find a seat where the next flight is supposed to land, look normal, and don't lose your boarding pass.

you wait in the terminal.
You don't have to go through TSA again because you already did in your first flight.
You just have to wait like everyone else

Nope, you will only have to through TSA once when you check in. Once you are in the terminal, your identity is not verified again.

I traveled las month and had a connecting flight and we did not have to go through TSA again, we just got off one flight and went to our gate to wait for the next.

I do have to say that I went through TSA twice when i did not have to... yikes, I was so dumb. My flight was delayed which would have caused me to miss my connecting flight, they offered me a direct flight and i gladly accepted = ) little did i know that meant having to go back to the non secured part of the airport to claim my new boarding pass and also going back through TSA check... thankfully I did not have any issues. You shoudn't either!!! I saw tons of people traveling with their passports and not once did I see TSA agents flip through the pages.
