So, this thursday, I have an appointment for my advising plan for next two years at my university with my program adviser.

My question is what do you guys think about me being honest with my status? or have any of you told about your status to your professor or any faculty member at school?

I just think that even though i'll graduate in 2 years, I think it's important to build close relationship with my program adviser. Also, I will need lots of help from her as well.

BTW... I will be majoring in Fashion Merchandising at SF...

Does your major require an internship? If so, be honest.

If not, maybe not. I wouldn't until I knew it was necessary.

But it's your call

I told a counselor I was illegal..she didnt really care. She says my situation is very common and she would still help me any way she could.

I agree with you. Bseo, if your major requires an Internship that you cannot get around where your status will come into question (maybe if it is a paying job that requires work authorization and so on), then you will eventually have to let the advisor know. Throughout college, I neither told my Advisor nor my professors because it was not necessary for me to do so, I only told the school officials that absolutely needed that information.
