White Births No Longer Majority in U.S.

Non-Hispanic whites accounted for 49.6 percent of all births in the 12-month period that ended last July, according to Census Bureau data made public on Thursday, while minorities — including Hispanics, blacks, Asians and those of mixed race — reached 50.4 percent, representing a majority for the first time in the country’s history.

I know this article is not talking about dream act, but I thinks this is a dream act related good news. With the growth of non white birth, republicans should really consider the needs of the minority groups instead of just the white group.

This ain't that great because I don't want this place to turn into Mexico. Also not good because i've never seen many beautiful hispanic girls....ever. I want the whites to remain somewhat of a majority, thank you very much. I might be racist in saying this, but i have clear reasons.

It's not just Mexicans. the article says "including Hispanics, blacks, Asians and those of mixed race ." And what's your problem with Mexico? Even though I'm not from Mexico or any of the latin american country, but still it's not polite to target a country base on the appearances of some of their people. if you want to live a country with high % of white people, you should move to europe instead. And speaking of the beauties, I think Eurasian girls(white + asian blend) are way more beautiful than "white" girls

Dude, cultural determinism much? What's wrong with Mexicans? They're as industrious and nice people as I've ever met. And really "turn this place into Mexico?", the article says it is primarily fueled by hispanic growth(I.e., not just Mexican-Americans). not to mention the fact that nearly almost every immigrant group manages to assimilate into the cultural mainstream eventually so I wouldn't worry about the country turning into a Mexican colony.

Also I think you're forgetting that the even by 2050 Hispanics(according to recent demographic censuses) will only be thirty percent of the population, it is non-minorities as a whole that will get to 50 percent.by that fateful year.

As for hispanic girls, I don't know the eyes you view things from, but they're def one thing I miss down here in Australia, it's pretty much just whites, asians, and pacific islanders down here, I'm missing my Chicas, but eh I guess I'll just settle for the white and asian girls haha.

Not all Mexicans you see in the US represent Mexico's diversity. Most Mexican immigrants come from southern states where there aren't that many "white Mexicans". I can assure though, Mexican women are beautiful.

Conservatives are scared that more Hispanics means a more liberal (brown) country that's far from it. Hispanics are very conservative, they are extremely religious, and they love the white Hispanic.

I was born in Mexico and I somehow agree with "Kingsam73" but with a different perspective. I really don't want this to turn into Mexico. I love California too much and I thank god sometimes that it ain't part of Mexico. Mexican neighborhoods here in LA often turn very ghetto (dirty, gang violence, drug dealing, scams, assaults, police corruption etc). Look at the situation in Mexico. Shit has clearly gotten out of the Mexican government's hands to a point where some of their military personnel rather work for a drug cartel. Decapitations, extortion on small businesses, corrupt politicians, kidnappings have become a normal daily basis thing in Mexico city.

Started with extortion on markets and small businesses later it was impounding cars from unlicensed drivers (big business since most of the population in the city was undocumented after it was declared a sanctuary) they had their own police department which both cities shared. A lot of officers turned out to have criminal records, sexual harassment accusations, and intimidation on citizens. (Funny thing was that most of them were Mexican as well). Don't get me wrong....Yes, I have met a lot of good Mexican folks but a lot of them are so ignorant that they even spit on the flag of the country that puts food on their table. I am in favor of that saying often brought up by conservatives "If you don't like it here, and don't respect the country, then leave". The truth is that a lot of our Latin folks are very ignorant and very uneducated. Trust me on this one, if you happen to get pulled over by a Mexican descendant cop you are fucked. White/ black/ Asian officials have treated me better than Latinos on multiple occasions. White folks that know about my situation have looked for ways to help me and assist me in anything that would make my life easier including adjusting my work schedule to go to school and stuff. Mexican people that know about my status -_- see me as a less valuable person, try to indirectly humiliate you, and often block your progress in life.

I agree, Mexico is crap (I'm from Mexico). I only disagree with his opinion of our women here in the U.S. My last 2 girlfriends were from Guadalajara and let me tell you, I'm now hooked on girls from Jalisco.

But yeah, the corruption and ignorance have hindered Mexico's economic and social potential. If they stopped having so many fkn kids, maybe there would be enough good paying jobs for everyone.....but no, they have 10 kids and can only afford to feed 3.

You can partially blame religion for this, but I don't want to comment much on this and start a religious war.
