Over the past decade we have seen the DREAM Act and CIR Fail. That's a fact. Both Democrats and Republicans have played political games with ours lives for more than a decade. They have left more than a million of us in limbo and used our unfortunate circumstance for political leverage.

Why don't they just pick one or the other?

Either pass the DREAM Act/ CIR or start a mass deportation campaign. It may sound radical and maybe even inconceivable but considering the United States spends more money on military than every other country combined, I think it's safe to say that it can be accomplished.

Why am I saying this? I'm simply sick and tired of watching sociopaths debate over our lives as if it were a game. I want to see something done. Republicans cant come out and openly admit they would favor a mass deportation campaign because it would be political suicide. Instead, they go around the bush and decide to make our lives unbearable until we "self-deport".

I honestly believe that if legislation to fund a mass deportation would come up for a vote and fail (which in fact it would) the deadlock and stalemate that is keeping congress from achieving anything would be amplified to the public.

Discuss.

As you mentioned, they are playing game on us. We all know that politicians are nothing but liars who just want to leave their name in history. However, they will never deport all of us. Even though Republicans are xenophobic, they love money. They just want to keep enough of us to run the economy. I'm sure that they will not want to waste billions to deport all illegals. Well, whether they are playing game on us or not, it looks like democrats and republicans are working together on upcoming DA. So, let's hope that they bring something that will benefit both of us

Sorry to break it to you, but they are NOT going to work together. Personally, I think this is just a strategic move to help Republicans look better in the eyes of Hispanics. Republicans are probably hoping that Democrats will vote NO on Rubio's proposal to keep DREAMERS from becoming future Republican voters.

Most of them want to pass DA/CIR whether they are GOP or Dems. It did not pass due to their jobs on the line and the party losing seats and/or elections.

Judging from your post, you seem to be intelligent, considering that you are not hyped over Rubio's bill (which will more than likely fail IMO).

Your argument states that there ONLY two choices and congress MUST enact one of them:
(1) CIR/DA.
(2) Mass Deportation.

If you agree with me, then clearly (1) will not happen any time soon. Then, your only choice is (2). And if you truly believe in that choice, you would self deport yourself, which you are probably not going to do. Clearly, there is a third choice which you are making, which is to keep living here undocumented. So the matter is not as easy as choosing one or the other...

1st, mass deportation will not happen because
1. its expensive
2. its expensive
3. its VERY expensive
ICE spend how much money deporting people each yr and there are still how many illegal in the country? i'm pretty sure there was something someone posted a while back about how much it cost to deport one person and it was not a small number. so mass deportation definitely will not happen.

however, they might force ppl to self-deport by taking away all available ways a illegal can attain employment, say e-verify(but of course, on a larger scale)? but i'm pretty sure most americans enjoy cheap labor so they'll be reluctant to go that route.

There is a chance of passing the DREAM ACT or the Rubio's bill if we wake up the "Lion" within ourselves... Nothing will happened if we don't educate Americans of the "truth" about our struggles. People can say how important is the Latino vote, but the reality is that our own community has failed us. Our parents, our uncles, friends, etc. who are legal but don't stand up for our cause. The Republicans or Tea Party has not failed us, it is our own people! It is time to be honest with our community, to challenge them, to make them realize that if they support us, we will in turn help them back when we have good jobs, become politicians, and hold high ranking positions. Forget about CIR, we are the type of people who could have a chance at any immigation reform, but we need to be active. We are barking at the wrong tree. We need to "light up" the fire within the hearts of those Latinos, we need them to get behind us. They need to stop voting for "Nuestra Belleza Latina" and focus on what is really worthy...
The chance is now, this election season!!!!!!!!! So what you say, do you want to keep blaming the Republicans or being a "victim"? I don't want to be a "victim," I am God's child and have God given abilities to accomplish a goal, I just need to put my mind and heart into whatever it is, and let God meet me half-way...

you guys are too optimistic its like if you only like picking the happy positive DA posts, theres currently alot of shit going down, already done and works in progress for making a serious deportation machine, what do you guys think secure communities is about? or what lobby groups like the private prisons are doing to push for alabama arizona style laws? if DA passes it will be the exception but right now and for like the last 4 years, everything thats been done has been to go the other way, you all need to wake up that decision was taken a long long time ago and theres been many examples that they're choosing to go with deporting everyone, and by the way, yea it is expensive but thats never stopped inflated spending bills here, just look at how much is wasted on defense, u forgot one piece, its expensive, but thats money thats to be made by groups like private prisons, its like when the tsa was started to keep all those ppl in work and happy, and them and everyone in line how else would they be able to do it when even mcdonalds aint hiring n thats the sort of jobs those can hope to go for, just look at how much money went in the budget to that dept this coming year, theres no plans of stopping, and once they're hired, the unions will make sure that jobs like that arent cut, thats serious scary shit of whats to come honestly
