The ticket I have is under someone else's name due to a mistake (My friend bought ticket online), my question is, do they check ID's to verify you have the same name as the name on the ticket?

I've never really traveled using greyhound. Thanks

Greyhound doesn't really check , but I never purchased online before so it might be quite different.

Some Greyhound stations do check your ID. I know the San Francisco station does. Just explain it to them.

Why are people still taking risks with greyhound, it is one of the least safe modes of transportation, specially greyhound of all bus companies. They have been known to comply with ICE in the past and allowing BP agents to board their buses to check people based on whether they look undocumented.

Flying is a much safer mode of transportation, provided you have a valid foreign passport.

It really depends where exactly you're travelling. But yes, I stay away from the grey hound buses. I chose the Peter Pan and have travelled from CT to NY without any problems. I believe both of those buses are under the same company but I think the route is what matters the most. You must chose an express bus service that has no stops.

I gave them a call and already changed the name so this shouldn't be a problem. As for the route....I'm going from San Antonio to Las Vegas. The stops has 3 trasnfers (El Paso, Phoenix, San Bernardino)

every situation is different. you kind of really have to take a chance. travel at your own risk. I have traveled on the greyhound before in Nevada, LA and San Jose. No one ever checked my ID. but like i said every greyhound station is different.

I've rode on Greyhound from Sacramento to Reno with no problems whatsoever, and no one even asked me for ID
