Honestly I think i would rather wait for Obama's second term and a new congress/house for us to pass a better bill or perhaps a new shot at the DA. Because if we waited so long, for some more than 10 years, to see the republicans(the same ppl that has always been against us) come out and try to hand us spam when we deserve the right to eat a decent meal. Its like letting alipac(the anti immigrant organization) decide what happens to us. I just think this is all wrong. Weve been waiting so long that were desperate. Anything they throw at us we are quick to accept and give full support.. I dont think we should, at least not to this stupid STARS Act that isnt offering most of us anything.

Im just venting but i do have one point to make here. if they pass these bills, there aint going to be no more bills or even attetion for immigrants for the next few decades to come. I hope everyone realizes that. I know the people who can put a thought together here understands that too. So lets be more careful for what were supporting. If they pass a bill that leaves a good 70-80% of us out, we are screwed guys.

Dreamers should take what is available now though. I really think Rubio's upcoming bill will pass this year.

Next few decades? Based on what? They have been talking about CIR already. Rubio is calling this as a humanitarian bill rather then a Dream Act.

You make it sound like Rubio's bill or STARS Act have any chance in the House.

The truth is, Rubio's bill and STARS Act are both going to fail in the House.

If you're worried that any of these are going to pass, you're getting way ahead of yourself.

On top of that, DA will fail in Obama's second presidential term as long as Republicans have the majority in the House or the Senate.

I know that I'm going to get flamed for saying this but it's the truth whether you like it or not. I'm 99% sure.

Yeah. The only way DA could pass is if:
Democrats retain at least a 53 seat senate majority, (might have to have Joe Biden present for the vote).
They retake the house with at least 30 seats above majorty (248 seats).
Reid decides to get rid of the filibuster (via nuclear option).

Based on Politics DA U. Im sorry to use you, but you are the precise example for someone who is desperate for anything to come out. Your posts through out the forums show that, and i feel for you man. Youre not the only one. This all really sucks for all of us, but we cant turn into blood feens. We can't just say "hey they are going to give papers to 18 year old kids and never talk about us again but well take it!!" just bc "something is better than nothing right? No! If they told black people "hey we'll let your people have rights, that is the ones that are younger than 19, but the rest will still not have rights to do shit" you think they would have said well ok something is better than nothing and stopped their movement?

Im saying we wont be talked about again for decades bc we wont be! Its common sense, its politics, the presidents(bush/obama) have said it before themselves, Durbin has said it too. They have to becareful with what goes through because the politicians already dont have much interest on the issue since its controversial, and they wont have anymore interested once something is passed.

Well my idea was that the dems would retain control in 2013 and obama would grow some balls and start pushing shit without worrying about the competition like bush did on his second term.

And im just worried bc for some reason those damn republicans always seem to get their way and im seeing the democrats as desperate as DA User to pass anything. Did u hear Gutirrez's interview? "ill support something even if its water downed"

As long as the Dems rule over the issue of Immigration nothing will ever get done, and even with SUPER MAJORITY in Congress there was nothing.

STARS and ARMS Act is just an idea for the Dream Act. We all know that DA is the real deal here. Why would Rubio's bill fail in House when Rubio is a GOP himself and majority are GOP's in the House. His proposal does not have a direct path to USC and that is what the Republicans wanted.

Democrats have all the momentum now I am looking forward for the Dems to take back the House and add more seats in the Senate. Americans are not happy with the 2010 elections.

VP can vote in Congress? Senate won't be a problem. The pressure will be on House. We have Gut talking with Rubio already.

Rubio's proposal so far is fair and it does not leave anything out so far.

VP can only vote if there's a tie (equal amount of yeas and nays), which due to filibuster doesn't happen often. If there is a tie and VP is not present then the notion fails.

You are absolutely right about that actually hence why i fear these things will pass and kill any future discussion for a fair bill.

And as far as rubios proposal being "fair so far" i ask u what proposal? He didnt introduce anything yet so how can u know whether its fair or not. Im talking about these STARS and ARMS bills. The age cap is bullshit. He has to raise it to 30-35.
