My Boss asks if I would like to go to France :-(

I'm a nanny for a wonderful family, they do not know about my immigration status. This summer they will be traveling to France and asked if I would like to come all expenses paid. I had to pretend to think about it and then say that I couldn't go because of different events going on this summer. I was doing so well mentally with everything and then this just came and knocked me down. I'm so frustrated guys!! I know you guys are too! I really hate lying to people about this ahhhhhh

It's hard and we've all experienced the same kind of disappointment. I was invited to be apart of my University's Model United Nations delegation and had to turn it down for the same reasons. It killed me because the team's adviser invited me out to lunch and begged me to join after he read some of my Poli Sci papers. I trust that just like that opportunity was placed in front of me, God has bigger and better ones out there coming my way soon. I believe the same is true for you too. Try to stay motivated and not let it put you in a dark place.

I changed planes in France once and spent a night there as a kid. Beautiful airport. As far as inconveniences go, this is somewhat minor. France is just like any other place and from what I hear, Europeans in Europe aren't too keen on regular bathing.

Do yourself a favor and go to Netflix and get National Lampoon's European Vacation. Then download Google Earth and fly through the streets there. It's almost the same minus the body odor smell.

Same thing happened to me. I nannied for a family and they invited me to Italy. Had to turn it down. Shit happens.

Indeed it does. I guess we just have to keep our heads up.

Don't worry. France is not running away. You will indeed go to France one day. Some people over there are probably dreaming to go to USA. You are already there

I was invited for the "People-to-People" program just last year. You would go to another country (that summer it was scheduled for Italy), and only some are selected from the schools for this program every year. I mean, it would've been an awesome summer and also looked great on college applications. But oh well......i would've had to pay like 5-grand even if i was able to go, lol.
