Hey, everyone!

These are every exciting times! I just want to start off by saying, please celebrate! Be happy. I know that it is hard to rejoice when we do not fully understand the implications of what occured yesterday. But...

We are on the COVER OF freakin' TIMES MAGAZINE! A lot of people from the entire country are finding out about our struggles and unbreakable faith! Especially, I celebrate for those who have actually SACRIFICED a lot to get where we are: our Dream Activists and allies! You have no idea how much I have been humbled to have been able to meet so many DREAMers and allies last night, during the celebration of this momentous occasion.

So, let's begin...
------------------------------------------

If you recall, I was able to get an internship at D.C. I arrived a few days ago, safely. My experience going through the airplane was a new one, but a succesfuly and empowering one.

Here is the deal, even though I just arrived here recently, I was able to meet dozens of people here at D.C. who are working on everything that has been developing right now. I was amazed at all the support we have at D.C.

At D.C., there was a very significant celebration on the night of Obama's announcement. People from all sectors of government and non-government agencies showed up to show support. Leaders, like Gaby Pachecho and Jose Vargas were there, along with some of the head DREAM Act organizers in this country who often are not given enough credit.

Overall, I am telling you this for a few reaons.

First, like I mentioned, at the beginning, please rejoice. I myself try to be a very heavy organizer back in my state and help other DREAMers as much as possible. BUT, even I was immensely HUMBLED at some of the sruggles of organizing that I heard from all the people last night. They have literally risked deportation and their lives FOR US to get this opportunity!

Is it easy for us, who have not undergone all these specific organizational struggles, not to celebrate? Yes. Is it easy for the people who I met last night? No. They put in A LOT OF work and we owe it to them to celebrate this time with them. By celebrating, we are enjoying these FEW occasions where we have something incredible happen to us (no matter how big or small). Celebrating is not synonymous with the halt of our struggles. We will still continue to look ahead. But, organizing requires these little moments of enjoyment. Otherwise, we would be burt out.

Secondly, I really want to bring what I learned back to the organizations that I work with. I also want to meet individuals here who are elemental in our path towards progression. I have been lucky to have come at D.C. at a time where something HUGE is developing for us DREAMers! NOW, MOST IMPORTANTLY, at this time, I know many of you have questions. So, here is what I will do my best with:
------------------

Based on the people who I have met, I will be doing by absolute best to follow up with them and gain as much insight as possibly. I will be sharing it with DREAmers back back in my state who I know personally. But, I also want to help those of you who have concerns.

I CANNOT guarantee you that I will be able to answer every single one of them. Also, please be responsible on what you post HERE, as who knows who is reading this (I myself am being very careful on what I post here, as I could get in big trouble).

I am not sure if i will be able to get all the answers. No one, not even OBAMA or Depart. of Homeland Security, have all the answers. All I can do is ask questions to the people who are analyzing this here at D.C.

I just know that I have an opportunity to get SOME answers through my presence here alone and the people that are surrounding me; something that I might not have been able to get back home.

PLEASE, try to make your question as brief as possible. (My schedule here is already getting too hectic for me and I'm trying to do my internship successfully. )

Sorry, I posted this on the "News Section" by mistake! Please, moderators, move to the "Lounge".

Thanks!

One of my questions would be if they plan on expediting the application process since it appears that one first has to be granted deferred action before being able to apply for a work permit. And with so many DREAMERS applying this could potentially slow down the usual time it takes.

--Will there be a time frame or deadline to apply by?

--Will people who have used someone else's (or a made up) SSN still be eligible?

Will they allow students to transfer to Universities in Virginia? currently, they only allow us to attend C.C. and pay out of state tuition.

Will they allow students to acquire an I.D/DL in Virginia?

Virginia is highly against undocumented people, this is why i ask.

What do you think the success rate of the work permit and deferred action being granted to eligible youths is?

Is it possible to be a two way street, and may result in mass deportation in the future?

I'm so happy for you and this wonderful opportunity you have gotten to experience! And how wonderful to be there when this policy change was announced. I hope you are able to learn and take a lot from this internship.

My question concerns those that did use bad SSN, say for going to middle school and throughout their education? Would they still be able to apply for this or would they be punished for not knowingly committing fraud?
