Hey guys I havent been on the forum in a awhile. I hear something about halting deportation between the age of 15-30 and us being allowed to work? I came to the US from south korea at the age of 9 in 1999. My parents business visa renewal got rejected from paying tax 2 days late when I was 19. Im curious if a person like me is still eligible?
Im 21 now.

Also if so does that mean you can work anywhere you want? Like best buy or apple? or for atleast minor business? Also where can i get the work permit from?

yes it sounds like you are eligible. you won't be able to work anywhere that requires secret security clearance and that kind of stuff.

oh lol... I'm from Korea too and the same thing happened to our family as well. You are eligible. You can apply for deferred action after 60days, and this will allow us to apply for work permit (EAD card), and through the EAD card, you can apply for social security number, so using that number you can work anywhere you want. However, for now, try to wait for 60 days till the whole process is setting up and meanwhile, you can gather any kind of legal documentation (whether expired or not) that will prove your enterance date to USA, and document that proves you been here for five years (school transcripts, bank accounts, utility bill, etc...)

Hi fellow Korean! Like bseo said, we have to wait for them to set up the process. There's nothing we can do yet as far as applications go. Stay on top of related news and stay out of trouble!

me, I'm still going to do that but after i get a degree. I can't afford to go to universities yet, so maybe after working hard full time I can save up enough to start university after I get a degree i plan on going into army in korea, or stay here if something else happens
